Research Interests

Dr. Glenn’s research interests include interdisciplinary remote sensing and geological engineering. She established the Boise Center Aerospace Laboratory (BCAL), with funding from NOAA, in association with the ISU Boise Center and ISU Office of Research. The laboratory and its location provide opportunities to collaborate with federal, state, and private agencies.

Dr. Glenn began ISU's remote sensing program in the Department of Geosciences in Pocatello in 2000, and has expanded it to include Boise and Idaho Falls. Dr. Glenn's experience in remote sensing processing and interpretation ranges from synthetic aperture radar (SAR), hyperspectral, and light detection and ranging (LiDAR). Her work also incorporates high resolution global positioning systems (GPS) and the use of geographic information systems (GIS) for field validation of high resolution hyperspectral and LiDAR data.

Current research at BCAL focuses on terrain (soil and vegetation) characterization with LiDAR and hyperspectral imagery for wind erosion prediction, remote sensing of invasive species, LiDAR analysis of landslides, and remote sensing of wildfire effects (burn severity and soil water repellency).
